Tour of Bonneville Locks and Dam (Sold Out)
Participants embarked on an enlightening journey through the heart of hydroelectric innovation with a captivating tour of the Bonneville Locks and Hydropower Project, a testament to the ingenuity of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Nestled along the majestic Columbia River, this iconic site has been a beacon of sustainable energy since its completion in the 1930s, serving as a pivotal component of the New Deal era. Furthermore, participants delved into the project's historical significance as a key contributor to the region's economic development and energy independence. The tour culminated in an exploration of the fish passage, a pioneering initiative by the Corps to ensure the preservation of local aquatic ecosystems. Attendees immersed themselves in the confluence of history, engineering prowess, and environmental stewardship at the Bonneville Locks and Hydropower Project.
